New Bracing Design Standard Released

The Truss Plate Institute is happy to announce the release of the DSB-2022 National Design Standard for Bracing Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses. DSB-2022 is a complete update of DSB-89, its predecessor, and includes guidance on the design of temporary and permanent bracing. This document is intended for structural engineers tasked with designing bracing for MPC Wood Trusses when parameters are beyond the scope of the prescriptive BCSI guide or when an engineered bracing design is required for a job.

The standard provides a design methodology for determining bracing forces and methods to resolve those forces within the structure using conventional bracing techniques. DSB-2022 is now available in hardcopy and digital formats on the TPI web store.
