TPI Standards Development
The Truss Plate Institute establishes methods of design, construction, quality assurance and testing for metal plate connected wood trusses in accordance with the American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) accredited consensus procedures and is an accredited ANSI Standards developer.
TPI's written procedures, "Project Committee Method to Achieve Consensus" (PCMAC), as approved by ANSI, ensure that TPI standards have achieved general recognition, agreement, and acceptance for use as a national voluntary standard. The current TPI Project Committees (PC) are:
- BSR/TPI 2 Project Committee - revise/reaffirm TPI 2 "Standard for Testing Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses." (Active)
- BSR/TPI 3 Project Committee - propose a new American National Standard, "Design Specification for Bracing Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses" (revision and expansion of DSB-89). (Active)
