TPI 2 Project Committee Information
"Standard for Testing Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses"The TPI 2 Project Committee (PC) is currently being formed to develop a new standard building on the original ANSI/TPI 2-1995 standard. The scope of the new standard is as follows:
The standard will provide procedures for testing & evaluating wood trusses designed & fabricated with metal connector plates. Destructive load tests of full scale trusses in accordance with these procedures provide a means of demonstrating that minimum adequate performance is obtainable from specific metal connector plates, various lumber types and grades, a particular truss design, particular fabrication procedures, etc..
As indicated previously, this proposed standard will build from the original ANSI/TPI 2 – 1995 standard and update it to reflect the current advances made within the industry.
The application period for those wishing to actively serve on the Project Committee is open and has been extended until 02/29/08. For a Project Committee application form please click here or contact the Truss Plate Institute.
The PC operates in accordance with the TPI Project Committee Method to Achieve Consensus (PCMAC).
