QUALITY
ASSURANCE INSPECTION PROGRAM
FOR
THE WOOD TRUSS INDUSTRY
TPI's Quality Assurance Program was established in the late 1960's in the Baltimore area. TPI is recognized by the International Code Council as a quality assurance and/or inspection agency in accordance with TPI's ICC's International Accreditation Service Report AA-648 Type A (Third-Party) Body, and is also certified by the Wood Truss Council of America to provide supplemental inspections per WTCA QC protocol. Today, +400 truss manufacturers agree via a "Mark License Agreement" to build trusses in accordance with the ANSI/TPI 1 Standard and the QAP-90 Manual. The licensee agrees to monitor quality via an in-plant check list for each structural set-up (gable ends, open jacks, step down hips, bobtail trusses are exempt), or it may implement an in-plant process control monitoring system such as one promulgated by the WTCA QC.
