The Truss Plate Institute (TPI), located in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking a structural engineer with knowledge of wood construction and the wood truss industry to serve the important role of Technical Director.
Position responsibilities are in support of TPI's mission of maintaining the truss industry on a sound engineering basis and this position will significantly influence that mission. An undergraduate degree in engineering is required, with graduate studies or professional registration preferred. The desired candidate will have experience in structural design and knowledge of wood trusses and components. Ability to travel and good communication, project-management, and consensus building skills are important qualities for this position. Relocation may not be required.
